SELIN MANER

A fourth-generation architect, SELIN MANER earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cornell University, and a Master in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University, receiving awards for exceptional merit from both institutions.

After a decade working in New York, MANER relocated to Southeast Asia to establish her own practice, Selin Maner Architects (SMA), in Singapore. Additional project-specific offices followed: Bali in 2006, Phnom Penh in 2007, and Istanbul in 2010.

MANER has designed and managed a wide variety of international projects, specializing in eco-tourism developments, luxury residences and private islands, often in far-flung places. Project locations include Cambodia, Cyprus, Holland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mozambique, Nigeria and Turkey.

Wherever her work takes her, MANER draws inspiration from local culture, traditional building styles and construction techniques. By respecting the synergistic connection between buildings and their environment, SMA strives to create architecture which is both forward-looking and environmentally responsible.
